I couldn't help myself, I had to join in all the kitty fun~
This is one of my cats, Sinn, and his new friend, a little baby ball python named Zier (short of Zierlich)

Haha, my other two cats would give the snake a run for her money, but Sinn seems to love little Zier  They cuddle all the time and get along famously, it's quite amusing, really XD
and thank you! I'm glad you think she's as cute as I think she is~

I love snakes. I wish I had a place to keep one but I have birds and cats(which I already stated will torment them) along with a dog.

This is gorgeous. I love shots like this one. It shows people that snakes are not the big, evil things so many people think. Love it!

Thank you, doll~ More people need to see that side of snakes, they can be so cuddly and friendly just like any other pet. It's all how they are raised, treated and socialized ^_^

No problem! So many people won't. I'd love for them to since our little buddy is a sweetheart. He does have a problem with one of our cats. The rest are like fellow snakes. It's fun watching them sometimes. I will always be a little cautious though with the cats. Just in case. I'm not afraid of him eating/killing them, but biting them.

Yeah, I always keep an eye on mine when the cats and snake are around each other. Even though none have ever shown any aggression or anything toward each other, it's still better to be safe *shrug*

It really is. One of my cats hates the snake and the feeling is obviously reciprocated. He'll stiff the others and curl up for warmth, but when she comes into the room, they both get ready to fight. It's been that way since the snake came home from the pet store.

huh, that's odd. they must just not like each other ^_^ Can't get along with everyone i suppose
One of my cats dosen't particularly care for the snake, but he just sort of avoids her, he's never tried to attack or anything

That's what we're thinking. It's not him who attacks or anything, but my cat. She just went for him one time (he was sniffing her kitten) and it's been a strange relationship since. He tries to have nothing to do with her, but when he's out of the cage, she somehow knows and seeks him out.

Careful with that snake o.o It doesn't matter how small they are, they will still see you as food and try to eat you. My mom got scared out of wanting a pet snake because a lady had one that wasn't eating and she took it to the vet. The vet asked if it was stretching itself out and that, and when the woman said yes the vet told her "It's getting ready for a big meal....It's preparing to eat YOU." (i'm terrified of snakes, my mother's story did NOT help)

Also, they eat mice and rats, not people.

I'm not trying to say you're wrong, but a ball python at their full size could barely take down a medium sized dog. The only snakes that are considered pets are the yellow anaconda, Burmese python, and the African Rock Python.

That "it's preparing to eat you" is crap. Some snakes don't eat due to stress from a future shedding, a new cage, new environment, etc. My boyfriend has one and he gets along with my cats, my dog, my kitten, me, my mom, etc. Never had any problems. I've also been bitten in the past by a full grown black racer. It hurt, but it was like a cat or dog bite.

They don't see people as food :/ and she's never bitten anyone even in self defense or when frightened. I have been bitten by a snake before, by one that was a little larger than Zier (the baby in the photo) and it really doesn't hurt, nor do they latch on and hang on for dear life like in the movies or anything silly like that ^^
You really have nothing to fear from snakes like this
Oh, and when they stretch out like that, it's usually because they are preparing to regurgitate, not eat something bigger XD I'm pretty sure your mother's story was just a story~

I don't know but as a person that lives near rattlesnakes and copperheads...I'd rather not test my boundaries with snakes. o.o

Haha, that makes sense, since those types are both poisonous. (we have water moccasins and copperheads around here) But my little baby is a python and constrictors aren't poisonous and make good pets when born under tame conditions ^_^
But I certainly don't blame you for being wary of wild ones

I'm wary of any snake. Small ones are adorable, but if they get near me I'll freeze up stiff as a board.

*lol* Actually I'm ok with tame snakes, so yeah I'm just being dramatic (though I inwardly can't help worrying how big it'll grow, especially with other pets around) X'D

I tried but for some reason I'm suddenly roused 2-3 hours later, tried to go back to sleep but felt uncomfortable for some reason...could be the effect of either my long exposure to the smell of paint (mom did a bit of repainting in the house) or because I only had one meal *was in a gloomy mood and hence no appetite* So I went to take a breather outside, fed and cuddled my cats (which made me feel a lot better), and ate....but don't feel sleepy enough to jump back to bed, so here I am checking online, maybe I'd be bored enough again to fall asleep X'D

Oh~ I see~~ She is really tame  And she has her own little enclosure (in the form of a 60 gallon fish tank set up with plenty of branches and things for her to climb) so she never roams the apartment without my supervision. But once she gets older she'll out weight her little friend (Sinn, the cat in the picture) and they wont be able to cuddle anymore :C

Oooh... that explains it... I was rather surprised to see you were up X'D I'm glad your feeling not so gloomy now though~ Kitties are always good for making one feel better ^_^

I see OAO

Whut? Yer not happy to see me~? QAQ *melodramatic teary sad face* I'm hurt~~ *ahem* Well I'm still somewhat moody (heck, who wouldn't be after just a mere 2-3 hours of sleep?), but what I meant is feeling better for whatever anxiety my body is kicking up to rouse me from my needed sleep in such a short time, rather than my overall emo mood ^^; But yes, kitties always makes one feel better ^-^

Yep, she should get to be from 5 to 8 feet long (and snakes are all muscle, so that can be pretty heavy) while little Sinn is the smallest of my cats at 5 pounds~

Whaaaaa??? *sputters about* How did you get that impression!? O_O I'm always happy to see you, Stormy~~ :tighthug:
Oooooh... Perhaps you should try to go back to sleep?

Wow.............er...how ya gonna manage her and what'cha gonna feed her when she get so big? OAO;

*lol* Idk ;P :tighthug: Oh yeah, did tried to go back to sleep as soon as I sent my last reply earlier, but....again I was roused from my sleep two-and-a-half hours later with a slight chest pain this time and I was like 'that's it!' and gave up trying to sleep even as I feel a little better now with some de-stressing chocolates, and several trips around the house as a light exercise.......and right now my dad's back from after 6 or 7 days away *groans in dismay* Yep, I having a wonderful day *grumbles and mutters sarcastically*

She's friendly enough it wont be difficult ^_^ She'll just have to ride around across my shoulders instead of in my hand when I have her out of her tank XD
And she'll be fed rats (already dead, sanitized and frozen ones from a local pet store because I can't stand to kill them myself *sniff*)

Oh you~ 8D
Hmmm... I wonder why your having such issues sleeping... That's not fun at all :/
And now your dad is back... ugh, it just keeps getting better, doesn't it? *sarcasm*

:icongrin--plz: They are buddies~~ They cuddle and sniff each other all the time. Sinn (the kitty) likes to rub his little fuzzy face all over her while she lays with him :iconomgsocuteplz: And the snake isn't afraid of him or anything, she just sniffs him back with her little tongue
